While we are trying to secure the DV Newsletter and bring it to the DV residents in an online format, security issues with “Internet Explorer 8” may pose some problems and difficulties. “Internet Explorer 8” (or IE 8*) is trying to keep our computers safe - thus making some “pop-up” features problematic. Below you will find a “Fix” for this problem. At present, we are working on finding a better way to password protect the newsletter. We will update this effort frequently and keep you informed! Thank you for your patience! Once you have logged in to IE, click on the “TOOLS” tab in the top tool bar: Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Level > Custom go through the script settings and enable scripting - this is just for sites that you have added to your trusted list so be sure you add the site you are trying to log in to exactly as the URL appears in your browser bar. It is most likely an ActiveX script so be sure you allow ActiveX scripts without prompting. But ONLY for trusted sites. You also want to turn Pop up blocker off. Apply these changes and close IE. Open it back up and try your site again. You may have to play around with the scripting settings until you find the right one, so you may have to do this a couple of times. NOTE: Once you have opened your Internet connection: click “tools”, then “Internet options”, then “security”. Scroll down to “Scripting” and enable “active scripting”. |
