SEPTEMBER EVENTS & ACTIVITIES Thurs. Sept., 2: Ladies’ Canasta at Little Dave’s - lunch at noon with cards at 1 p.m. Hostess: Jodie Milliman. Sat., Sept. 4: LUAU fundraiser for Fishing & Boating Club of Doe Valley at the home of Mitch and Ruth Shortt. Everyone brings a covered dish item to share and lawn chair. Admission is $15.00. The event will include a great meal, lots of fun, entertainment and a lot of socializing. This will be a great way to meet people - we have a lot of newcomers to Doe Valley and we can all show them how great it is to live and participate in Doe Valley Activities. . Dress is Hawaiian/Casual - adults only as alcoholic beverages are included. Sun., Sept. 5: Fishing & Boating Club of Doe Valley, Inc. will be having a Boat Cruise . Time to be determined by Karen - probably 3pm - 6pm unless it’s too hot. Everyone brings a covered dish item to share, their own eating supplies and beverage. We’ll swim, weather permitting. Call Karen at 422-4437 ref time/??. If you don’t have a boat, call Karen and she’ll find room for you. Weds., Sept. 8: Derby Dinner Playhouse, lunch matinee production of “Ring of Fire” by carpool. Weds., Sept. 8: Ladies’ Only Bunco at Little Dave’s - We begin play at 7 p.m. and we are on the way home by 9 p.m. Cost is just $5 pp and all monies are paid back out that night. WE WILL NO LONGER BE CALLING OUR DOE VALLEY PEOPLE TO REMIND THEM - MARK YOUR CALENDERS FOR EVERY 2ND WEDS. NIGHT April 422-2935. Thurs., Sept. 9: Hand and Food Cards at Little Dave’s - lunch at noon with cards at 1 p.m. Hostess: April Sat., Sept. 11: Fishing & Boating Club’s All Member Fishing Contest from 7a.m. to 2 p.m. from the Marina. Members $3;guests with members $5. Sun., Sept. 12: Fishing & Boating Club’s Annual Fish Fry at 3 p.m. at East Beach Pavilion. Our president, Carl Lambert will furnish the fish and the S & T Club will fry it and furnish tartar sauce. Everyone is welcome to attend - just bring your own eating plates and utensils and beverage. Everyone brings a covered dish item to share. Weds., Sept. 15: Doe Valley Homemakers will have their meeting at the S & T Club at 10:00 a.m. with lunch, by reservation, to follow. Hostesses: Karen Hofmann and Ginny Mitchell. Devotional: Karen Hofmann Lesson: Home Cleaning by Brenda Dattilo. This is our first meeting of the Fall and we hope to see some potential new members, so please, come for a visit, have lunch and see if this activity works for you. We are an extension related organization, we have a lesson every month, we support other local organizations and we have a great time socially. Try us on for size - see if we fit! Lunch at noon with Bunco at 1 p.m. Hostess: Martha. Thurs., Sept. 30: SHANGHAI a card game! April 422-2935 will be teaching this game at Little Dave’s beginning at 1 p.m. There is no cost - it doesn’t matter how many people play - but if you want to let her know you will be there, that would be great. We’ll meet at noon for those who want lunch, play begins at 1 p.m. Coming Events: Sun., Oct.. 3: Fishing & Boating Club’s last scheduled Boat Cruise for this season - 3pm to 6 pm. Everyone brings a covered dish item to share, their own eating equipment and beverages. You don’t need to have your own boat - call Karen and she’ll find room for you. Karen 422-4437. Weds., Nov. 10: Derby Dinner Playhouse, Lunch Matinee production of“ A Party to Murder” a murder mystery party game that takes on a sinister twist. A comedy, mystery with an unexpected and terrifying conclusion. |
